One frame has been recovered from the Thames River, and all of the lights found, after Perth County OPP received a tip over the weekend about the missing Christmas displays from Milt Dunnell Field in St. Marys.
Speaking to the Journal Argus Tuesday morning, Sergeant Dave Sinko said police acted on the tip and found all of the lights from two missing displays — a Grinch and a raptor — “in an open area” not far from the park. The town’s Public Works department was contacted, and they subsequently found one of the metal frames in the river.
The investigation is ongoing in an effort to determine the culprits. And a search of the river is ongoing for the other metal frame.
