For anyone looking for a place to party on New Years Eve, there are a few options on the table for you to check out.
The Pyramid Recreation Centre will be holding a free public skate, sponsored by Tim Hortons. The event will feature free face painting and will run from 6-8 p.m. The pool will also be open for a swim, but swimmers will have to pay regular admission. A balloon drop will happen in the lobby at 8:15.
A youth dance will also be held at the PRC for Grades 6-8 only. The dance runs from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Guest Services booth at the PRC for $5 in advance, or $7 at the door.
The St. Marys Golf and Country Club will host a Prime Rib and Lobster Tail Dinner. The $50 ticket includes the meal and a night of entertainment featuring The Blues Daddies. Dinner starts at 7:30, with cocktails at 6:30, and the dance runs until 2 a.m. If you’d like to skip the dinner and attend the dance only, tickets are $25.
The Legion will be throwing a New Years Party featuring a performance by the band Labyrinth. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the event runs until 1 a.m. A light lunch will be served. The next day, the Legion will be holding a levée from noon to 5 p.m., which will feature food and an open mic.
The Army and Navy will be open for members and guests until 1 a.m. on New Years Eve. There will be a D.J. and snacks, plus no cover at the door. The night starts at 7 p.m.
River Valley Golf and Country Club will have tube sliding from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. (and yes, their hills are open!) Inside, there will be cake, party favours, munchies, and karaoke from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The cost will be $25 after 8 p.m. The event will be family friendly.
The Parkview Creamery will serve “a nice, quiet dinner,” says co-owner Joe Robson. The special will be prime rib, as well as their regular menu. The Creamery will close early so that staff can celebrate with their friends and families.
The Merchant House Pub will be closed for a private function.
