CAMBRIDGE - St. Marys Landscaping Atoms captured the Cambridge Roadrunners Atom ‘B’ tournament in dramatic fashion here this past weekend.
Kevin McDougall’s squad won their final two games, 2-1, in shootouts.
The Landscapers defeated the host Cambridge team in the semi-finals. Forward Lily Daum fired the shootout winner, and goalie Rachael Bentley allowed no goals in the shootout.
The St. Marys Atoms defeated St. Thomas in the championship game.
Joanna Van De Walle was the scoring hero in the finale. She tied the score 1-1 with 1:11 remaining on the clock. Earning assists on the equalizer were Lauren Cameron and Hope McDougall.
Van De Walle scored the lone goal in the shootout, and Bentley again surrendered no goals in the shootout.
